Legend says that each December, as winter settles over the ancient woodland surrounding Hazlewood Castle, the friendly Keeper of Christmas returns to awaken the forest with festive magic.

This December marks the very first chapter of Christmas Kingdom. For the first time, families are invited beyond the castle gates into the Secret Forest, where thousands of twinkling lights, magical moments and festive adventures await around every corner.

Wander beneath glowing woodland canopies, meet Santa in his Woodland Grotto, gather around crackling fire pits and search for the legendary Keeper of Christmas. Every path leads to a new magical experience, and every family helps keep the magic alive.

Santa's Woodland Grotto

Hidden deep within the Secret Forest, Santa and his merry elves welcome families into a magical woodland teepee. Children can share their Christmas wishes with Father Christmas before receiving a quality gift to remember their visit.

Grotto add-on £15 per child Tickets are released at 12:00pm today. Register if you'd like an alert, and read how to book so you're ready to choose the right time.

Why slots are limited It isn't possible to offer as many Grotto bookings as overall Christmas Kingdom capacity. Numbers are deliberately limited so every family gets enough time with Santa, rather than a rushed visit.

How to book Max 4 children per slot. Adults go in free. Under 1s go free unless you want them to receive a gift or have time with Santa - then book a child ticket. Do not book Santa during your Light Trail (about 1 hour). 5 or more children need two separate tickets.

How to book your visit

Light Trail tickets and Santa's Grotto are booked separately. Grotto slots are deliberately limited so every family gets enough time with Santa. Read this before you choose times so your visit does not clash.

Why slots are limited

Not every visitor can meet Santa

We understand that visiting Santa is a special part of Christmas for many families. However, it simply isn't possible to offer the same number of Grotto bookings as the overall capacity of Christmas Kingdom.

To protect the quality of the experience, Grotto numbers are deliberately limited. This allows every family enough time with Santa and ensures the experience remains personal, magical and memorable, rather than rushed or overcrowded.

Christmas Kingdom has been designed as a complete festive experience, with Santa's Woodland Grotto being one of several attractions within the Kingdom.

How to book Santa's Grotto

Max 4 children per slot

Each time slot is for a maximum of 4 children. Choose the ticket that matches how many children are visiting Santa:

  • 1 child
  • 2 children
  • 3 children
  • 4 children

Adults go in free. You do not need a ticket for adults.

Under 1s go free provided you don't want them to receive a gift or have time with Santa. If you do want them to receive a gift you need to book a child ticket.

More than 4 children?

Book two separate tickets

You cannot put more than 4 children on one slot. Book two different times.

Example: 5 children = one 2-child ticket + one 3-child ticket.

Don't clash with the Light Trail

Check your Light Trail time first

Book Santa before your trail starts, or after it finishes - not during.

Example: Light Trail at 3:00pm takes until about 4:00pm. Book Santa before 3:00pm, or from 4:00pm onwards.

The time on your Light Trail ticket is when you need to arrive at the Secret Forest. Allow about 1 hour to walk the trail.
